Jack B. Egbert, born on July 18, 1949, in East St. Louis, Missouri, passed away February 10, 2025 at the age of 75. A proud veteran, Jack served his country honorably in the United States Army.
For over 50 years, he was the devoted husband of Shirley Egbert, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. He was the proud father of their daughter, Christina Guilfoil, who was his greatest joy. Jack was, simply put, the best dad ever.
Jack had a deep passion for drag racing and race cars, always drawn to the thrill of speed and mechanics. A skilled craftsman, he worked in construction and with the U.S. Forestry Service, dedicating his life to building and creating. His love for woodworking was evident in his impressive shop, where he found joy in making home improvements and crafting with his hands.
Known for his quick wit and humor, Jack had a gift for making people smile. He was a jokester at heart, always finding ways to bring laughter to those around him. In the last several years, health challenges left him struggling with not being as active as he once was, but his spirit remained strong.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Ellen Hopp; and one brother. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; his daughter, Christina Guilfoil, and her fiancΓ©, David Tanner; his sister, Margaret Craig; and a host of dear friends who will cherish his memory.
At this time, no services are planned. Jack will be laid to rest with military honors at a later date. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered always.

My condolences to the family.
