LINDEN, TX Funeral services for Jacob Dude Turner, 32, of Atlanta, will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 9, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Linden with Bros. Mike Lovely and Jackie Stanfield officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home, Inc. A visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 P.M. Friday, at the First Baptist Church of Linden fellowship hall. Mr. Turner was born July 13, 1977 in Wiley, Texas, to J.G. and Beckey Roberts Turner He went to be with His Lord on January 5, 2010 in Cass County, Texas. He was a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Corrections Telford Unit in New Boston, Texas and was a member of First Baptist Church in Linden. Jacob loved fishing, hunting, camping and the Dallas Cowboys. He lived life to its fullest. He was a most beloved husband, father, and son. Survivors include his wife Kim Turner and his two daughters, Peyton and Presley of Atlanta; his parents, J.G. and Beckey Turner of Linden; a brother and sister-in-law, Jody and Teresa Turner, of Linden; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Tammy and Darren Palmer of Linden and Michelle Turner of Texarkana; his grandmother, Wanda Binnion of Linden and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Brenda Williams of Atlanta; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Chris and Kelli Williams Bearden of Atlanta; his grandparents in-law, Roy and Merle McAlexander of Queen City; three nieces and four nephews; and many very, special friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016, www.kidney.org.

So sorry to hear your sad news. I remember when David and Sara and your children were so little and lived in the country and played all day outside. Just a thought for all of the Turner family. I am determined not to let myself be consumed by the tragic events of the last few days..but rejoice in the fact that I have been Blessed and fortunate enough to know one of the most forgiving, fun-loving people in the world. I know we will all agree that he was taken way too soon, but we're all better people for having known him! God makes no mistakes! I know that is hard to swallow, but I have to believe it is true. I do know one thing for sure,the gates of Heaven opened up & welcomed an angel home to forever watch over us all, leaving us with WONDERFUL memories to last a lifetime. May God Bless us all. And just remember that this is not goodbye..it is simply "until we meet again"! I hope this helps you all in some way. I will continue to pray for you all and if there is every anything I can do, just look me up. He would have done the same for me!

Dear Turners, my thoughts and prayers have been frozen around you all since first hearing the news… we send our deepest condolences. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of playing football, "stick"ball, (or whatever other game we could think-up)and yes even the occasional B.B. gun fight we had in the little field across from Beckey and Jody's house. (Ms. Beckey, thanks for always having a sack and a coke for all of us…) I will anyways remember his strenght and athleticism, his good nature, and most of all his laugh… That thunderous laugh when he had just pulled one over on you! 'Til we meet again in that big sandlot in the sky, may you rest in peace my good friend. We are all better people having had you in our lives.

I was the luckiest Aunt in the world to have had Jacob as my nephew, and we shared the same name "DUDE". Being the joker he always was, of course I thought he was kidding me when he ask me "Aunt Dude, do you have another name"? He only knew me as "Aunt Dude". That is when he showed me his DL to prove to me his middle name was DUDE. Jacob was the kindest person, most thoughtful, and most loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and the best friend anyone could ever have. He never met a stranger, nor did he ever have an enemy. His smile would light up any room he entered,and he had the most loving "hugs" anyone could ever give. He was always there for anyone who needed help, and he lived his life for his family and friends. He loved life, like no one I've ever known,and he was loved by everyone. God only takes the BEST, and Jacob was truly one of God's chosen. He's now in Heaven with all of our loved one's, and believe me, he'll always be in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. The hardest part for all of us will be "HOW DO WE LEARN TO LIVE WITHOUT HIM"? Jacob leaves us with so many "PRECIOUS MEMORIES",and he'll always be in our broken hearts, yet we all know he will always be looking down on us, and until we all meet again in Heaven, rest in peace Jacob, and know how much your loved and missed. So honored and so proud to have been "YOUR AUNT DUDE"

Jacob "Spongebob" will be deeply missed by all his fellow co-workers. There was never a day when he didn't have a smile on his face or a funny story to tell. I met Jacob about 2 years ago in Houston with Aunt Judy Helmer. He was so nice and reminded me of my husband. I would like to give condolince to your family (My husband is the firefighter in Round Rock Chad that Aunt Judy talks about. )
