James Allen Chisolm

February 19, 1974 ~ September 17, 2011
Kris and Amy genuinely care about what they do. They helped our family so very much with the passing of our mother. Quality people performing at such an elevated level.
Kris and Reeder-Davis were a huge help during a very difficult time. They were compassionate, patient and determined to make our funeral arrangements as comfortable and stress-free as possible. I would recommend them to anyone needing a caring and understanding presence.
Making my Momβs arrangements was one of the hardest things to do. But, Kris, Amy and the rest of the staff were amazing through it all.
I could not have asked for a better group of people to help me during this very rough time.
They are exceptional !!!

A very well kept establishment as well as very kind people. They make you feel welcome, cared for, and like you have a family outside of family.
The staff here becomes family. They are incredibly supportive and make sure everything is perfect! There is no better place!
When my 52 year old younger sister passed away we couldn't have fathomed the grief her 15 year old would be going through. She wanted to be involved in her mom's service planning Reeder-Davis employees were very patient and listened to her every wish. For that I am most grateful. Thank you for the services you provide our small community...we are blessed to have you as part of our town.
The best in the area!

Very kind and compassionate people.
Years ago my parents made the decision that when their time came they wanted Reeder Davis to handle their burial services, So as hard as it is to lose your parents their time to go did come and when it did, We relied on Reeder Davis to help our family through the arrangements that needed to be made and all I can say is their commitment, compassion and their understanding made such a difficult process much easier. Our funeral director Amy, from our first meeting to our last was so kind, She shared in our laughter of funny memories and she shared in our tears seeing our grief. My sister suddenly passed away a month after my dad and again, Kris and Amy were there to help us and we were so grateful. Kris, Thank you for the care you gave to us and for being so kind and thoughtful. I will never forget everything that all of you did for my family .
Reeder handled my father in laws services and did it with so much compassion. We were at a loss with what to do first and Amy was amazing at guiding us. They treated us just like family and we will always be grateful for that.
For such as sad occasion we could not have asked for any better. The facilities were great, the staff very caring. Everyone did everything possible to make this the best experience possible. Even the slideshow had a personal touch that was initiated by the staff. I am so very grateful for the care and services we received.

Kind, caring folks that truly understand the grief you bear, and help you move forward in what is a difficult situation that we all have or will experience.
They took excellent care of both my mother and father. My wife and I have already prearranged our funerals with them. They are the best.

From the time they picked up my wife from the hospital and then through the entire process and even today, they have remained friendly, courteous, and most helpful with all our needs. Working with our insurance, planning the service, providing helpful suggestions, and taking care of tiny details we had not thought Reeder-Davis Funeral Home was wonderful, and Mary was so professional, one of the best. Their care made our loss a little easier to bear. Thank you so much, James Bynum & Family
I just want to thank the staff at Reeder Davis for handling my mothersβs final arrangements beautifully. Kris was extremely compassionate and helpful throughout this untimely and unexpected event. Everything was flawless and exactly how my mother would have wanted her final wishes carried out. Planning a funeral is never easy but it definitely helps when your loved one is in the care of caring and professional hands. Thank you π Shawna
I have seen personally, the Reeder Davis Family treats your loved ones with as much love and respect as you would. What more could we ask? Thank you RD for your devotion to making the worst days easier.

Reeder-Davis is the most caring place I can imagine in a time of need. The staff is second-to-none!
These people are the greatest. They have always made me feel like family. Thank y'all for being so wonderful. God bless y'all
I have never had a bad experience at RD, from making programs for our church or giving advice in whatever way they can.
The McKinney, The McCain, & The Hill Families would like to sincerely thank the staff at Reeder Davis in Hughes Springs for the excellent services they provided to us in the death of our Mama, Dorothy McKinney. Mary went above & beyond in helping us to prepare our Mama for visitation. Amy helped us in each & every need that we had. You could not ask for a kinder man at the cemetery than Wayne. To each person that helped, we appreciate ALL that you did... Thank you, again!
It has the most comfortable feel about it. Everyone treats you like you are family and have so much compassion and empathy . I love Amy & Kris and all of the others also.
Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. in Linden and Chris were there for me and my family when Keith passed away. Chris is so caring and thoughtful and was able to help me make it through the entire process of caring for Keith and my family until the final burial. He made the journey of death so much easier by his respect for our needs and his compassion for our pain and sorrow. I have known his staff for a long time and they also helped lighten our sorrow by their outpouring of love and compassion. Reeder-Davis also took care of my precious mom when she passed away three years after Keith. I still hug Chris and thank him whenever I can for helping me through losing loved ones.
Very nice service. We were well satisfied.

James & Darlene Chisolm,When we all Think of memories of "Chiz" we all have a big smile because in one way or another he touched everyone's heart! I have been very fortunate to have gotten to know "Chiz" because of the SPECIAL LOVE that him and Logan shared, which brought Alexus to us, and I know the most important thing in his life, and what he lived for were his three beautiful girls! May God bring you Hope, Faith, and Love, through these hard times.Marvis Richardson
Allen, I miss you more then you will ever know. For so long you were more like my brother then a cousin. You are now and always will be loved, missed, and thought of often.
James and family, you are in our thoughts and prayers
James, I am so sorry to hear about Allen. My prayers are with you and your wife and granddaughters.
Dear Chisolm Family, Please accept my condolences, I just met James this year at Cabela's. He was great with customers always playing up on his "East Texas" charm. He was also a kind man, taking myself and another colleague hunting in Avinger. I was waiting to hear all about Alaska and his adventures. He did send me some pictures and a story about a 'Mama Grizz.' I know he had fun and many, many stories to tell. I am sorry I will not get to hear them. Please know that his passing struck everyone at Cabela's deeply and he will be sorely missed. May his light shine bright through you and all his family.Sincerely,Jim Prindle
Words cannot express our deepest sympathy. Prayers go out to your families.

Jimmy & Darlene,My heart breaks for you and I pray that God will comfort you. I was around Allen a couple of times in the last year at Chad's house and I really enjoyed talking to him and listening to his stories!
Dear James & Darlene,It has been along time since we have seen or talked to each other & I hope & pray that god will help you in every way he can. Allen was a cute little boy when last I seen him. He loved playing with Christy and she loved him alot. I am deeply sorry for your loss, I know he was going to grow up & make you proud of him. From the things that I heard about his daughters and him they were his life. Christy said that he would do anything for them.May God be with you and comfort you. You two made him into one terric man, God Bless You All.Ann
So sorry to hear about Allen, your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
our hearts are totally broken over the loss of James. He was a very sweet man & always looked forward to everytime he would come to our house. The 1st thing he would do would start showing pictures of those beautiful girls and his face would just light up and that beautiful smile would just be huge. He helped dans dad out with mechanic work and used his dads truck to go with Rodney to pickup a huge boat also he came a few times for a little hunting. We are so very sorry for this loss and our heart & prayers are with you all.
James,I am so sorry to hear about the loss of yor son. I will continue to pray that God will carry you and the girls through this difficult time. If there is anything we can do here at instrument shop let us know. With deepest sympathy,Joey
May the Lord bring peace and confidence to the girls in knowing how much they are loved and lifted up the Lord. James touched our entire family at many ways…fishing with the boys, fixing cars or Harley's with Dan and Dad, or just cutting up. God bless you all.

He was part of our family for a short time, he will be missed and never forgotten. May the Lord hold all of you in the palm of His hand and give you comfort. Blessings to all,O'Neal and Pat Moore
We all had the pleasure of working with James this summer in Alaska. We are all shocked and feel lost at his passing. We were all looking forward to getting in touch with James once we were all back in the real world. We are very sorry for your loss. Drew, Thomas, and Lowell.
I have just learned the heartbreaking news about Allen. I had the pleasure of meeting Allen on a recent fishing trip to Alaska. What a great surprise it was to meet a fellow Marine in the middle of nowhere. As one could imagine, we shared some great Marine Corps and fishing stories. What a great man and Marine. As Ronald Reagan once said, "Some people spend an entire lifetime wonderingif they've made a difference. The Marines don'thave that problem." God Bless, Marine. Semper Fi.
