Resided in:
Diana, Texas
James Anthony Pipes, Sr., 62, of Diana, Texas, passed away at his home on February 4, 2025. Born on January 19, 1963, James proudly served his country in the United States Army before embarking on a long and fulfilling career as a truck driver. He loved the open road, traveling across the country, and taking in the beauty of the places he visited.
Later in life, James worked alongside his son at Nolan Painting. Though painting was a far cry from his travels, he brought the same dedication to the job. At home, however, he was able to share his artistic side with his family. When his children were young, he hand-painted their favorite characters on their bedroom walls, creating special memories that lasted a lifetime.
James was a devoted father and grandfather, fiercely loyal to his family. His stubbornness was well known. It could be both a challenge and a gift, but those who knew him best understood that it was a reflection of his strength and determination.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pamela K. Pipes; his mother, Merlene Pipes; father, Joe Pipes; his grandson, Lance Logan Baker; son-in-law, Jonathan Wild Baker; two brothers; and one sister.
James leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his son, James Anthony Pipes, Jr.; his daughter, Donisha LaRae Lenoir; his granddaughter, MacKenzi LaRae Lenoir; five siblings; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A celebration of James’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs, Texas.

I will love and miss you big brother! You taught me so much, from driving to working on cars. Soap on your trampoline (broken ankle), riding 3 wheelers(broken wrist when I rolled it). You helped make me who I am today! Love you, Sister
