Funeral services for Mr. James “Cat Eye” Sadberry, age 63, of Daingerfield, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023 at the Daingerfield High School Auditorium. Burial will follow at Rhodes Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mr. Sadberry will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Sadberry passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in Tyler, Texas.
Mr. James Loyd Sadberry was born January 27, 1960 in Lone Star, Texas to James Arthur Sadberry and Arlene Black Sadberry. James “Cateye”, was a graduate of the Daingerfield High School in 1978 where he played basketball and worked while in school with the Proctor Tree Service. He left the Proctor Tree Service to work for the City Of Daingerfield. James always tried to better himself, so he moved from job to job. He was employed by Turner Brothers Industries, Lone Star Tubular, and A&A Coating until his health failed.
James met Beverly Lee in his early years of school and he later married her on April 16, 1981. Cateye was a great husband and father, he worked hard and even worked through all types of weather to make sure he provided for his family, as well as others. James was a member of the motorcycle clubs in the East Texas area that helped in escorting funerals and Community Services helping people in need and giving school supplies to the students.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James Arthur and Arlene Black Sadberry-Lawton, George (Tealy) Lawton; his grandparents, Loyd and Bernice Black, Tommie and View Elkins; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and three brothers-in-law.
James leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 41 years, Beverly Sadberry of Daingerfield, Texas; two sons, Curtis Lee and Triston Sadberry of Daingerfield, Texas; two daughters, Latonia Lee of Plano, Texas, and Shawn Pearson of Lone Star, Texas; three sisters, Tosha (Derrick) McDaniel of Rome, Georgia, Doris (Bobby) Lee of Dallas, Texas, and Linda Faye Henderson of Tyler, Texas; four brothers, James Earl Sadberry, George Anthony (Tiffany) Lawton of Daingerfield, Texas, Lamont and Carl Daniel of Dallas, Texas; two bonus daughters, Alicia (Daymond) Jeter and Tialida Armstrong of New Diana, Texas; two God-children Roderick Jackson of Daingerfield, Texas, and Nosha Lee of Hughes Springs, Texas; a special friend, Billy Kelly; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
