James Elmer Brown, 87, of Linden passed away September 28, 2017.Β  Mr. Brown was born October 28, 1929 in Linden, TX to Noah Paul Brown and Iva Surratt.Β  James served his country proudly in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his daughter, Aleda Noland and husband, Ken; two granddaughters, Staci Molitor and husband Mitch, Lisa Lynch and boyfriend, Tim Sisco; two grandsons, Todd Iles and wife Sabina, Timothy Lynch and fiance, Pam Keo; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn James and husband, Daniel, Tiana Iles, Nikolas Iles, Isabella Sisco, Jonathan Sisco, Timothy Lynch, Keonna Keo; great-great-grandchildren, Lincoln James and Maci James; other grandchildren, Billie Seneshale, Tiffany Pena, Denise Benson, David Benson; other great-grandchildren, Adrian Pena, Fabian Pena, Marco Pena, Ian Benson, Eric Benson; one brother, Sam Brown and sister-in-law, Nellie Brown.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Iva Brown.

Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017 in the Linden Cemetery with Bro. Mike Lee officiating and under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

There will be a Celebration of Life following services at Sweet Briar Farm, 357 CR 1132, Linden, Texas.

Memorials can be made in memory of James Brown to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

  1. I am deeply saddened by this news. My Uncle Jim was a special man. I always smile when I remember the camping trips we had together. I remember his wedding to Pansy and now the are back together. My condolences to the family and friends who are grieving. Praying for you. Be comforted with all the precious memories we have with Jim Brown. This is a great loss.
