LINDEN James R. Fant, 70, of Linden, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009, in Atlanta. Services will be 2:30 P.M., Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Salem Baptist Church with Pastor W.A.Washington officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home. Mr. Fant was born July 13, 1938 in Oilton, Oklahoma, to Frank and Stella Narramore Fant. He was a retired machinist at Red River Army Depot, owned a welding shop in Linden, served in the U. S. Army; and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving friend, Linda Sue Epps of Linden; four sons, Kortney Jackson Fant of Linden, Frank Fant of Atlanta, Markieth Jackson and Patrick Jackson, both of Dallas; two daughters, Demisa Phillips and husband, Michael, of Linden, and LaShun Davis and husband, Glen, of Arlington; two sisters, Dorothy Dunkel and husband, Loy, of Avinger, and Bobby Woodruff and husband, Guy, of Sandoval,Illinois; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
