LINDEN, TX-Funeral services for James Fred Holland, 81, of Linden will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Linden with Bros. Jackie Stanfield, Don Phelps and Charles Russell officiating. Interment will be in Center Hill Cemetery in Linden under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Holland will lie in state Monday and family will receive friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. at the funeral home. Mr. Holland was born December 3, 1929 in Linden to Fred and Lavada Holland . He died April 9, 2011, in Linden. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Linden, and he worked for Lone Star Steel Co. for 42 years. Mr. Holland also belonged to the Linden Masonic Lodge 192. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Golda Holland of Linden; one son and daughter-in-law Stacy and Stacie of Linden; and two daughters and one son-in-law, Lou Jennings of Austin, and Carrie and Steve Surratt of Cleburne; one brother, Doug Holland and wife, Sylvia, of Hughes Springs; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Holland was preceded in death by two daughters, Dena Holland and Robin Tobert; one grandchild, Catherine Jennings; and one brother, Homer George Holland.
