James T. “Jim” Lile, born on June 1, 1964, in Napa Valley, California, passed away at his home in Lone Star on August 28, 2024, at the age of 60. Jim was a man of immense strength, both physically and in spirit, who touched the lives of many with his generosity and kindness.
Jim proudly served his country as a member of the Army Special Forces. His dedication and courage were evident in every aspect of his service. On his last jump, a tragic accident resulted in a broken back, but Jim faced this challenge with the same determination that defined his life. After his military service, Jim worked for many years as a welder. Β Jim found joy in riding his Harley, a passion that brought him peace and freedom. His motorcycles, trucks, and loyal dogs were constant companions throughout his life, as were his family cherished grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Jim’s heart was as big as the Texas sky, and he was always ready to help anyone in need. His love and dedication to his family were evident in every action he took. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dawn “Tugie” Nichols Lile, whom he affectionately called his “Tiny Dancer,” as well as his father, Howard Lile, and his mother, Ester Tigert.
Jim is survived by his two sons, Logan Lile and Mark Lile. He also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren: Landon Kooper Lile, Coltin, Sofie, Hamilton, Whitley, Eltalee Dawn, Piper, and Grayson; his sister, Karen Bradshaw; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends, will continue to hold his memory close. Jim’s life was a testament to the power of love, loyalty, and perseverance. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Oh my goodness. What a precious soul. I am in shock to hear of Jimβs passing. My condolences to Linda and Jimβs family. Jim was such a sweet guy.
Rest in peace Brother. You were a real soldier and hero.
Rest My Brother, thank for all the High School Fun Memories.
My hearts filled with sadness to hear you’re really gone. I’m sad you’ll no longer be able to hear Grayson’s wonderful stories he always shared with you or to play walkie talkies with him. I know you’re in a better place and maybe one day we’ll meet again.
My condolences to the Family. Haven’t seen Jim in a few years. May he rest in God’s hands.
Love and Prayers to his Family
