LINDEN Funeral services for James Ray Dean, 61, of Linden will be Saturday, August 4, 2007, at 10:00 AM in the Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Phelps and Bro. Leon Morrow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, August 3 at the funeral home and burial will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery. Mr. Dean was born in Linden on November 3, 1945 and died August 1, 2007 in a Shreveport, LA hospital. He was retired from Community Action Agency of Northeast Texas, a member of First Baptist Church, VFW Post 6968, and served in the U.S. Navy. His parents, Nolan and Sarah Morrow Dean, and a son, Jimmy Dean preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Patsy Dean of Linden; two daughters and sons-in-law, Holly and Nathanael Ehlers of Lakeland, FL, and Sharron and Mark McDonald of Lakewood, WA; a son, Wade Vaughn of Linden; one brother and sister-in-law, Frankie and Ollie Mae Dean of DeSoto; and a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Orville "Butch" Sword of Port Ludlow, WA; two uncles, Bro. Leon Morrow and Calvert Morrow of Linden; one aunt, Nina Duncan of Linden; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

  3. When I think of James, I remember Patsy and him being the managers of my apartment. Before I headed off to San Francisco to be with Todd, he and Patsy told me all about S.F. I'll never forget how they tryed to prepare me for my departure. James was a good man. I'm glad that I got to know him. My prayers go out to all of the family.
