Services for Jay Blackburn, 55, of Hughes Springs will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, may 30, 2024 at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial will follow at Bradfield Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jay Michael Blackburn was born January 25, 1969 to Mike and Kathie Blackburn in Arlington, Texas. He passed away May 27, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Hughes Springs. Jay was a loving, caring person who loved his family without fail. Jay was a proud graduate of Hughes Springs ISD. He played football in high school and continued to enjoy sports. He was a big Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. He worked in the logging industry, was a Superintendent in the oil field industry for many years, and an equipment operator . He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Jay was preceded in death by his first wife, Terri McClung Blackburn; son, Chadd Blackburn; brother, Terry Blackburn; and grandparents, Lee and Betty Blackburn and Hazel Hall.
Jay is survived by his loving wife, Bea Blackburn; devoted parents, Mike and Kathie Blackburn; sons, Randall Blackburn and wife Hayleigh, Sage Blackburn; step-sons, Charles Vaughn and wife Becca, Bobby Vaughn and wife Sheena; brother Randy Blackburn and wife Lizel; grandchildren, Skyler Blackburn, Cale and Witten Vaughn; and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He will be deeply missed, but always in our hearts.
