Jay Alfred Chatham, age 81, of Lone Star, Texas passed away on Saturday June 25, 2022 in Lone Star, Texas. He was born on January 27, 1941 in San Angelo, Texas to Jay Lee Chatham and Mamie Lattimer.
He was a lifelong welder and fabricator who could fix anything. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather who was always eager to pass on his craft and wisdom to his children and grandchildren. He was our rock, our biggest pain in the butt and will truly be missed.
Jay is survived by his brother Johnny Chatham of Florida, daughters, Mariah Chatham of Lone Star, Texas and Ona Ellison of Brady, Texas, grandchildren, Micaela Ortiz, Brandon Ortiz, Cory Chatham, Courtney Chatham, Kristina McBride, Jewel Farmer, T.J. Turk, Dustin Jones and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay Lee Chatham and Mamie Latimer, daughter Laura Middleton, son, Garron Turk, and loving wife of 53 years Marsha Ann Chatham who passed 13 days prior to him.
Family and friends will gather to honor Jay’s memory at a private service.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Jay’s 10% discount fund.
Services for Mr. Jay Chatham will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Reeder-Davis Chapel under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
