Funeral services for Jerry Bailey, 66, of Hughes Springs will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Veal Switch Baptist Church in Hughes Springs with the Rev. Butch Shipp officiating. Burial will follow in Veal Switch Cemetery, under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. of Hughes Springs. Mr. Bailey will lie in state at the funeral home Sunday afternoon and evening, and the family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. . Mr. Bailey died on his birthday, after a lengthy illness on Saturday, August 9, at a Longview hospital. He was born in Bodcaw Arkansas. He was a Baptist, and he retired from Lone Star Steel after working there 30 years. He is survived by his wife Kay of Hughes Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law Sherry and Shawn Sinclair of Sulphur Springs and Marla and Matt McCord of Hughes Springs; one son Jerry Bailey Jr. of Hughes Springs; one sister Peggy Creech of Stamps AR; three brothers-in-law and their wives Ray Marlar of Daingerfield, James and Jo Ross and Richard and Janice Ross, all of Hope AR; and eight grandchildren Justin and Melanie Bailey of Dallas; Lacy, Lauren and Linzy Larsen and Chloe McCord, all of Hughes Springs; and Sawyer and Skyler Sinclair of Sulphur Springs. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Opal Bailey and a sister Dorothy Marlar. Friends may leave condolences at www.reeder-davis.com.

Sherry you and i used to go together at hughes springs jr high. we went to the homecoming dance together. I would like to say that I'm so sorry for your loss. I'll be praying for you and your family. Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for strength.
