LINDEN Funeral services for Jo Ann Pixley, 66, of Linden, will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Linden with Bros. Jackie Stanfield and Wally Jeffers officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Jefferson, under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Pixley was born September 15, 1943 in Jefferson to Bill and Faye Lemmon Sylvest. She passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009 in a Longview hospital. She was an office nurse at Glenn-Garrett Clinic and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Linden. She is survived by her husband, Joe Pixley of Linden; one son, Brett Pixley and his special friend, Shawn Sullivan, of Linden; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Jimmy Simmons of Linden; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Sherri Pixley of Atlanta and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

  2. Jo and Brett, I am so sorry for your lose. JoAnn was just like a mother to me when I was growing up. My mother and JoAnn would take Jeff and I on all kinds of road trips!! We always had the best time!! My first trip to six flaggs and a trip across the mississippi bridge with jeff and I in the floor board, I can still hear mama and JoAnn laughing at us!! I will always remember the time her cake fell apart and she won the "blue ribbon" and the fun that we all had that day. Her attitude was truly amazing with never a complaint. I will always remember her smile, warm greetings and kind words.
