February 16, 1936 ~ February 8, 2012
On Wednesday, February 8, 2012 Marijo Jody Anderson Leftwich left this life exactly as she would have chosen surrounded by people she loved. Jody was born in Paris, TX to Jack and Sarah Anderson on February 16, 1936. Her family moved to Hughes Springs where she married her only love, Carol Leftwich, on November 13, 1950. For all but a few years they lived and raised their family in their beloved hometown. Dedicated to those she loved, Jody was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, aunt, and dear friend. She welcomed everyone into her home with a smile and a hug, a cup of coffee and a slice of cake. Even if you dropped by unannounced, she was so glad to see you, it was as though she had been waiting all day for you to arrive. Jody was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Isla Kasling; and her three brothers, Jack Sonny Anderson, Duane Doc Anderson, and Tommy Anderson. She is survived by Carol, her husband of 61 years; her children, Duane Leftwich and his wife Cindy, Vicki Fowler and her husband Bobby, and Carolyn Frost and her husband Billy Don; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive visitors at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs on Friday, February 10th from 6pm-8pm. Jodys service will be at the First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs on Saturday, at 2pm, with the burial immediately following at the Hughes Springs Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs or Jodys favorite charity, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.

To all of Jody's family I want to express my deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers. The memories I have of Jody were from as far back as young boy in the 1950's and as an adult at my store in Martins in Longview. Those memories are of a warm, friendly lady with a radiant smile that made you immediately feel better. I will always remember her as a person though I did not see much, made my life brighter every time I did.
To all the family of Jody Leftwich, even though I never personally knew her-I can feel her love for people shine through her husband and her daughter Vickie. May our God wrap each of you in his loving arms and hold you during your grief. Sounds to me like Heaven is a better place because of her entrance. Our heartfelt love and prayers are with each and everyone of you.
Sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you and family.
