Services for Joe Melvin "J.M." Lafayette, 72, of Cason will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Shady Grove Baptist, Cason with Rev. Jessie Biles, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Lafayette died Monday, January 15, 2007 at his residence. He was born May 5, 1934 in Morris County, TX. He worked in the steel industry. He is survived by his wife, Naioma Lafayette of Cason; daughter, Kathy Garrett of Cason; sons, Reginal Peters of Garland, Darren Bolton of Mt. Pleasant, Lacy Bolton of Dallas; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, James Lafayette of Cason; sister, Hurlene Doddy of Cason; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Viewing and visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening at the funeral home and the family will receive friends after 7:00 p.m.
