LINDEN TX Johnny Edwin Harrod was born May 26, 1952 in Atlanta, Texas to Edsel Ford and Lydia Keener Harrod. He passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 in Longview. Mr. Harrod was a construction rigger, a member of New Colony Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Kathi Harrod of Linden; his mother and stepfather, Lydia and Richard McCool of Linden; two sisters, Jackie M. Harrod and Vickie Mathis of Linden; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family plus a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Ricky, and a great niece, Averie Fant. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, May 25, 2012 at New Colony Baptist Church in Linden. Interment will follow in New Colony Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
