Johnny Morris "J.J." Jeffery was born in Upshur County, Texas to the late Alvin and Julia Sayles Jeffery on April 4, 1938. He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Julia Sayles Jeffery; one sister Margaret Jeffery; one brother Lonnie Jeffery; one daughter, Lisa Jeffery; and previous wife Emma Lee Hayes Jeffery. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of four years Vernell "Verna" Jones Jeffery; six children James "Guffy" Jeffery (DeBion) of Greenville, Michael "Mike" Jeffery (Marie) of Rowlett, Gary Jeffery (Frieda) of Greenville, Nathaniel "Doug" Jeffery (Vera) of Texarkana AR, Calvin Jeffery of Greenville, and Cathy "Susie" Alexander (Mikle) of Greenville; two step-children Rios Waddleton (Kathy) of Midland, and Lashun "Shun" Haley of Ore City; fifteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, six step grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren, one brother Al Jeffery; four brothers-in-law, Willie Hayes of McKinney, I.V. Jones, J.W. Jones (Betty), and Joe L. Jones (Annette) all of Dallas, TX; five sisters-in-law, Zethia Porch of McKinney, Gladys Jones and Katie Jones both of Dallas, Maye Jones of Tulsa, OK, Mary L. Jones (Tommy) of DeSoto; special cousin Samuel "Cleon" Sayles of Ore City; and a special aunt Alice Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
