Funeral services for Johnnyrea Fite, 79, of Hughes Springs will be on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Linden with Rev. Don Phelps officiating and assisted by Bro. Jackie Stanfield. Burial will be at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. in Hughes Springs. Mrs. Fite was born August 6, 1929 in Vivian, LA and died on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at a Hughes Springs nursing home. Mrs. Fite was a member of First Baptist Church of Linden, Hughes Springs Sesame Club, Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Survivors include one daughter Beth Fite of Pasadena, CA; two sons and one daughter-in-law Russ Fite. of Hughes Springs, TX and Gregg and Michelle Fite of Corpus Christi, TX; one grandson Cory Rustin Fite of San Antonio, TX; one sister Mary Joyce Welch of Hughes Springs, TX; an aunt Claudia Merle Murphy of Elgin, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of Linden, TX or to the Hughes Springs Library Fund. Visitation will be on Friday, December 5, 2008 at the funeral home in Hughes Springs and the family will receive friends from 5-7 PM.

  10. She was a giving and special person. She touched many with her kindness. My husband, mother,Sarah Chastain, and I had a very special visit with her last spring during the Wildflower Festival. Johnnyrea will be missed.
