Josiah Jones

April 27, 1997 ~ May 30, 2021
Josiah V. Jones, 24, was born April 27, 1997 in Mt. Clemens, MI, to parents: Michael W. Jones and Lynn Allday-Jones of Jasper, TX.
Josiah was an exceptional young man in every sense. Those who knew him always commended the beautiful smile, joy and determination he had for living and overcoming impossible medical odds against him since infancy.
He was a faithful member of Northridge Church, Pensacola, FL for 16 years [2005-2021]. He could often be found at the front alter dancing and praising the Lord in worship.
Josiah loved playing baseball! He was a devoted player with Miracle League of Pensacola from 2008-2019.
He was also an excellent equestrian, getting his start in 2008 at The Leaning Post Ranch, Molino, FL and later going on to ride weekly from 2012-2015 at Runnin’ W.J. Ranch, Texarkana, TX under the brilliant direction of Mrs. Brittany Rogers, whom he did adore.
Josiah was a graduate of Wings As Eagles Christian Academy, Class of 2019.
Josiah’s greatest loves in life involved spending time with his siblings, walking and swinging outside in the sunshine, sitting at the feet of his beloved grandparents, Jack and Gaye (Ge-Ge) Hathaway of Pensacola, FL and most of all sitting in his mother’s lap being rocked and snuggled in her arms.
Which is precisely how Josiah passed into Glory on the quiet Sunday evening of May 30, 2021 in his home in Linden, TX. After having bravely fought for several years against the ongoing medical complexities he suffered involving his endocrine and GI systems, he did finally succumb while being held in the loving and faithfully devoted arms of his mother. His death was pronounced by his faith-filled physician of nine years, Dr. Ted D. Trimble of Pittsburg, TX. Josiah now resides in the Eternal Care and loving Arms of His Savior Jesus.
Josiah was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary L. Stith, his uncle, Roy G. Allday, and his aunt, Diane Allday-Mitchell. He is survived by his grandparents, Jack and Gaye Hathaway of Pensacola, FL; his grandfather, Tommy Allday of Alvarado, TX; his grandmother, LaVaughn Jones; his father and step-mother, Michael and Rhonda Jones of Pensacola, FL; his brother, Jon-Michael Jones, his sister, Tabitha Jones-Holmes and her husband Tyler, all of Pensacola, FL; and his mother, Lynn Allday-Jones. He will be missed by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as devoted friends known for many many years.
A Memorial was held at Runnin’ W.J. Ranch, Texarkana, TX on June 5, 2021 to honor his memory by those whom knew and loved him best in Texas.
A second Memorial Service was held at his home church Northridge in Pensacola, FL on June 27, 2021 to allow for all the following of family and friends there to show their love and honor in his memory. It was a grand celebration of the amazing person Josiah truly was to so many during his short time on Earth.
