Joyce Boyer

joyce boyer

Graveside services for Joyce Boyer, 81, of Avinger, will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Fouke Cemetery in Fouke, Arkansas with Bro. Shawn Thrapp officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Boyer died Saturday, November 11, 2006 in a Linden hospital. She was born December 13, 1924 in Fouke, Arkansas. A spiritual woman, Joyce loved to read God’s Word, and words of inspiration, both in the Bible and in other printed means. She would even leave the foils of Dove candies out for everyone to read and enjoy. (She ate the chocolates, though) Joyce was a care-giver and was always willing to care for her mother, as well as other family members and friends. Close ties were maintained with her sisters and brother throughout her life. A professional woman, Joyce was primarily a receptionist. Well dressed and immaculately groomed, she presented a professional impression on behalf of her employers. Her personal passions were shopping, cooking and her beloved pets. We remember and honor all our family who preceded her in death, but Joyce, who retained her grace and beauty to the end, will be sorely missed. We will miss her Christmas Rum Cake, too. We love you MeeMa. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Van and Nancy Templeton of Avinger; one daughter, Deborah Bartholome of Longview; one sister, Jean Browning of Minden, La; one brother, Kenneth Miller of Las Vegas, NV; and five granddaughters, Terri Price of Linden, Tami Jacobs of Avinger, Larisa Breedlove of Longview, Jennifer Davis of California, and Elizabeth Wilson of Utah. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and her cat, Samantha. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Tola Miller. Viewing and visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening at the funeral home and the family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m.
