Funeral services for Ms. Julia Marie Royal, age 78, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Avinger.Β  Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.Β  There will be a time of visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Julia Marie Royal was born on October 14, 1945, in Cass County, Texas, to her late parents, Clinton Royal and Claudia B. (Dowell) Royal. On March 18, 2024, she peacefully transitioned at UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX. Julia leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be held close to the hearts of those who loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Lakesha Royal and her husband, Deon Taylor, of Forney, Texas, her two sons, Eric Royal (Penny K Abernathy) of Arlington, Texas, and Derrick Royal. She also leaves behind her siblings, Billy (Elizabeth) Royal, Wanda Gaston, Glyen
(Clara) Royal and Claudia (Perry) Espie. In addition, she is survived by four grandchildren, Yekeshia, Daniyah, Doyon and Derrick as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Julia Royal was known for her fashion sense and love of florals. She was a warrior, bravely battling breast cancer with unwavering strength and determination. Throughout her journey, she inspired everyone around her with her resilience and positive spirit.
In the face of adversity, Julie continued to bloom like a beautiful flower, radiating love and joy to those fortunate enough to know her. Her unwavering spirit and grace touched the hearts of many, including her siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Julia Royal left a lasting impact on all who crossed her path even in the days she was in dialysis, or chemotherapy. As we say our goodbyes to Julie, let us remember her for the incredible woman she was.
May her love for florals and her impeccable style forever remind us to embrace beauty and find strength in the face of challenges. Though she may no longer be with us, her spirit will continue to bloom in our hearts, reminding us to cherish every moment and live life to the fullest.
Goodbye, dear Momma, Sister, Aunt Julie, and our friend. May you rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the most beautiful flowers in heaven.
