Justine Royal

Justine Royal was born to the parentage of Willie and Fannie Royal Bruce in Mandeville, Arkansas, July 24, 1926. The family moved to Hughes Springs when she was a young girl and she joined the Love Chapel Baptist Church where she served as a faithful member until the year 2000. She was one of the founders of the Greater Love Community Baptist Church where she faithfully served until her health failed. She was united in marriage to Luther Wesley Royal on March 5, 1945. To this union, one daughter was born. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Luther Royal, one brother Clinso Bruce, one sister, Iris Bruce Powell, both parents, Willie and Fannie Bruce. She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Sheryl Fisher (Ezell) of Hughes Springs; four sisters, Mrs. Juanice Washington of Hughes Springs, Doris Young of Silver Spring, Maryland, Loisteen Harris (Edward) of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Rosie Nance of Arlington, Texas; two brothers, Mr. Norman Bruce (Tiny) of Daingerfield, and Norris Bruce (Carlenta) of Dallas; three step grandchildren, Donald and Mikel Fisher of Daingerfield, and Jennifer Thomas of Dallas; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Accomplishments: Educator for Love Chapel School, Victory High School, Texarkana College, and Jefferson Independent School District before retiring in 1987. She was a dedicated member of M.W. St. Joseph Mt. Olive Order of the Eastern Star Lodge for 50 years. She served as Worthy Matron and Treasurer of her local chapter, Grand Associate and Grand Worthy Matron of the State of Texas. She also served in offices of the upper houses of Amaranth and Daughters of Sphinx. She helped in the purchasing and establishment of the Hughes Springs Community Association
