Linda Kaye Faulkner Jenkins passed away peacefully on March 8, 2023, in Hughes Springs, Texas surrounded by her family. The second child of Norman Dale and Jean Faulkner, Kaye was born in Hughes Springs on July 18, 1953.

Kaye grew up in Avinger, Texas, and attended Avinger schools, where she graduated in 1971 having formed many everlasting, loving friendships. After attending Kilgore College for two years, she worked at the First National Bank in Avinger for two years. Until retiring, she spent 36 years working at Lone Star Steel companies (T&N, Lone Star Steel, US Steel) where she also met many long-time friends.

Kaye was a devoted mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. A doting grandmother, she loved nothing more than spending time with and spoiling her grandkids, nieces, and nephews. She was an incredibly kind and caring person who always put others before herself. Her warm smile, gentle nature, and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Aside from her family, Kaye had a passion for gardening, animals, and the outdoors, which she enjoyed throughout her life. She could often be found out on the blacktop walking a dog or two (and sometimes even a cat). She bottle fed many calves that needed nursing back to health, and took pride in being able to call them in from the pasture.  Kaye was an active member of her church and the community and made a positive impact on many lives.

Kaye was preceded in death by her father, Norman Dale Faulkner; her husband, Mike Jenkins; her sister-in-law, Diane Faulkner; and her son-in-law, John L. Willis.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Jean and Don Pearson of Longview; son and daughter-in-law, Clark & Krystyl Turner of Hughes Springs; step-daughter, Sandra Willis of Hughes Springs; step-son and daughter-in-law, John & Llaura Jenkins of Longview; grandchildren Clark T. Turner, Coleman Turner, Caleb Turner, Nicole Willis, John K. Willis, Luke Jenkins, Mark Jenkins, and Matthew Jenkins; brother and sister-in-law, Randy & Doris Faulkner of Avinger, Texas; brother, David Faulkner of Diana, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wildflower Trails 5k fundraiser to re-plant the trees at Hughes Springs City Park.
