Kenneth William Riddle, Sr., 83, of Ore City, Texas, passed away on February 18, 2025, in Gilmer, Texas. He was born on September 22, 1941, in Hughes Springs, Texas, to Boliver and Ruth Riddle.

A hardworking man with a strong work ethic, Kenneth spent much of his life doing roofing and sheet metal work, though he also spent time on the road as an 18-wheeler driver. He had a love for the outdoors, especially fishing, deep-sea fishing was his favorite. At home, he could often be found watching classic Western movies, playing his guitar, or enjoying music. He and his beloved wife, Linda, shared a deep appreciation for gospel music and loved listening to the Gaithers together. Those who knew Kenneth best will remember him as a bit of a pistol, full of personality, humor, and a strong sense of independence.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Riddle, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage before her passing; his parents; two daughters, Kathy Riddle and Tracey Riddle; his sister, Wilma Ruth Riddle; and brothers, Marshall D. Riddle and Charles Riddle.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth Riddle, Jr., and wife Kim of Ore City; daughters, Kristi Riddle and Bruce Frazier of Harleton, Debbie Pate and husband David of Ore City, Virginia Welch and husband Joey of Van, Texas, and Diana Chambers of Longview. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his sisters, Elizabeth Brown Riddle and Marsha Perkins, and his brother, Morris William Riddle.

Funeral services for Mr. Riddle will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Ore City, with burial to follow at Concord Cemetery in Omaha, Texas, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and last until service time.

Kenneth will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him, but his legacy of hard work, love for music, and passion for life will live on in those he leaves behind.

  2. Candle 8Kenneth was my brother .he was 5years older than I. We always had a close relationship. But as all teens we fought like brother and sister. He tore the screen door off of the hinges running from me . I had a large broom. He ran like a jack rabbit.
