LINDEN Services for Kent Allen Hoskins, 60, of Linden, will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 11, 2008 at Linden United Methodist Church with Bro. Joel Benton and Bro. Charles Hale officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Hoskins was born in Sterling, Colorado on July 14, 1947 to Forrest and Ruth Moore Hoskins. He passed away in a Dallas hospital on Monday, July 7, 2008. He was an anesthetist, a Navy veteran, a member of the Viet Nam Veterans Association, and a member of Linden United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Dawn Hoskins; a daughter, Ashley Hoskins of Linden; a sister, Janet Genereux of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

  1. Kent was from a generation that did not like rules and Kent did not like to follow the rules. He was simply the best nurse anesthetist I have ever worked with. I trusted him with the lives of many during my career and these patients included family and freinds.Kent served northeast Texas and this Country faithfully and well. Thank You my friend ,you will be missed. Peace and comfort to Dawn and Ashley.

  3. Kent was a wonderful person. I had the pleasure of working with Kent at Linden Municipal Hospital. He was a gentle person, until someone done something wrong to someone he liked, and then he was a bear. He will be greatly missed.

  8. I am so sorry to hear of Kent's passing. I went all through school with him in Sterling. I never really knew him well but enjoyed talking to him at the last few reunions. My heartfelt sympathy to his family. God Bless.
