Larry Douglas Lane, affectionately known as “Lane,” passed away on August 30, 2024, in Ore City, Texas, at the age of 50. Born on October 4, 1973, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Lane was a man of many talents and passions, living life with a fierce determination and a heart full of love for his family.
Lane was a devoted husband to Paula, with whom he shared two wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and companionship. As the owner and operator of Great Escape Trucking, Lane took immense pride in his work, dedicating himself to his business with the same zeal he brought to every aspect of his life.Known for his strong convictions, Lane was always eager to engage in discussions, and was passionate about sharing his beliefs with others. His work ethic was unparalleled; a true jack of all trades, he was always willing to lend a hand and tackle any task that came his way. Lane also found joy in riding his Harley, embracing the freedom and adventure it brought. A very competitive pool player, Lane loved the thrill of the game and the friendships it fostered. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his children and family, creating memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Paula Lane; his children, Noah Lane, and Leah Embray and her husband Eli; his father, Terry Lane; his grandmother, Wanita Twigg; his sisters, Terisa Ayers and her husband Rodney, and Chellie Benedict; his brothers, Robert Lane and his wife Brenda, Jeremiah Lane and his wife Brandice; his step-children, Andrew Casey and his wife Reagan, Matthew Casey and his wife Jordan, and Darian Aguillon and her husband Angel; and his cherished grandchildren, Olivia Casey, Davin Casey, Remi Casey, and Denver Aguillon. Lane also leaves behind a host of extended family and beloved friends, who will forever hold his memory close.
Lane’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his legacy of hard work, passion, and love for his family will live on.
