Thinking of you in this time of need
I’ve been friends with Larry Hill since elementary school. We both grew up together, went to school one year apart, played football and basketball on the same teams, went camping, hunting, and fishing together. We went to college together for three years. As young adults we shared a double wedding/honeymoon with our wives Margie Simons and Sue Boon. Both couples remained together for life, and we shared a joint 50th Wedding Anniversary with a trip to Disney World in 2013. While careers took us in different directions, we still remained close friends even though ‘seas between us broad have roared since auld lang syne’. As the story was told to me growing up, when Larry was born he was, what else, a ‘Small Hill’. Menfolk around Linden then asked themselves, ‘What do you call a Small Hill?’ The answer of course was ‘Mole Hill’. The nickname stuck with Larry his entire life although it was expanded upon in many ways. It morphed into ‘Moley’, and then, since his middle name was Ray, some called him ‘Mo-ray-ley’, or simply ‘Moe’. All of it was meant fondly. We’re gonna’ miss you ‘Moley Ray’. We won’t be very far behind. Rest in Peace Dear Friend,
Ross & Margie Humphrey

So sorry to hear about Larry. He was a great man and good friend. Prayers for Sue and all of the family. May your faith and precious memories help you get through these difficult days.
I certainly will miss Larry! Sue, and the rest of your family should know, that I greatly admired this wonderful Christian man. Even though I was not reared in Linden, when I first moved here, I soon heard about what a great starting basketball player he was, for the undefeated 1960 Linden team, that were the State Champions that year! He will now be on God's team in Heaven. I will have the whole family in my prayers, for your loss of Larry.
Larry was a good guy. He reached out to me even though we had little in common.
We are so sad to hear of your loss. May many happy memories bring you peace during this time.
