LaVerne went to be with our Lord in Whitesboro, Texas. Funeral services will be on Friday August 24, at 10:00 am. at the Cornett Methodist Church by Pastor Durwood Bristow. Viewing will be on Thursday, August 22, 2007 between 6 9 pm at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs, Texas. Pallbearers will be James Fitch, John Coleman, Jef Nelson, Denvil Bradberry, Ross Dobelbower and Randy Brock. LaVerne was born in Centerville, Texas to Eva-May and Ray Stell Robinson. She married James L. Penny on March 16, 1943. She attended Sam Houston University in Huntsville, Texas. She is survived by two daughters, daughter Jamie Sue (Penny) Bradberry and husband Denvil, granddaughter Michelle Nelson and husband Jef, great grandchildren James and Hannah Fitch and Tracy and John Coleman, and father Scott Fitch, grand son Ross and Debbie Dobelbower and great granddaughter Sinclaire Dobelbower. Daughter Patricia Ann (Penny) Tigert and husband Tommy, grandson Ben and Lydia Tigert and great grandchildren Victor, Christopher, Chastity, twins Cassie and Callie, Brandon, Isaiah, Isaac and Christopher, Cody. Grandson Matt Tigert. Loving brother Ken and Herma Robinson. Niece Debra Robinson Schielack and husband Robert, grandnephew Robert Schielack. Niece Regena Robinson. Brother in law Dudley Penny, nephew Ross Penny and wife Janice and great nephews, niece Marilyn Penny Pennington and family, also niece Joy Lynn Penny and family. Preceded by nephew James Penny. Sister in law Elnora Hampton Wells and niece Elaine Wells Willeford and husband Randy and family and niece Melba Wells Taylor and husband Ed. Brother and sister in-law Charles and Helen Hampton. She will be greatly missed because she was the best wife, mother, grandmother , great-grandmother and friend.

Sorry for the lose of your dear one. My children (David and Sara) and I attended church with J.L and Laverne for many years at Cornett. She really was a very sweet person and is remembered with fondest thoughts.
