   Services for Leroy Brown, 98, will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2021 at Hughes Springs Community Church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mr. Brown will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. 

   Leroy Brown was born December 5, 1922 in Marion County, Texas to Will and Katherine Brown. He passed away June 7, 2021, following a lengthy illness, at a Longview Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Leroy attended Macedonia School in Jefferson, Texas. He joined the Army and served his country as a member of the Army Air Forces during World War II. He was a member Hughes Chapel Baptist Church and later joined Hughes Springs Community Church. He was a Mason and retired from Lone Star Steel as a    laborer and tool handler. 

   Leroy Brown was preceded in death by his     parents, Will and Katherine Brown; brother, Robert T. Brown; children, Sandra Jimmerson, Kay Francis Brown, Roy Edward Brown, Monica Ford; wives, Lottie Mae Brown and Jonell Brown; grandchildren, William Jeter IV, Freda Renee Barber, and Racquel Hiner. 

   He is survived by brother, Willie Z. Brown;    sister, Mable Lois Johnson; children, Hellon Jeter of Dallas, Annie Pearl Brown of Hughes Springs, Gale Menefee (GW) of Hughes Springs, Katheryn Gholston (Jimmy) of Hughes Springs, Janice Brown (JC) of Daingerfield, Brenda Powe (Walter) of White Oak, David Chris Brown (Thalia) of Daingerfield. Leroy was the head of four generations, including many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.

  1. Mr. Brown (Tearoy) as we called him would know when ever we pass his house or knock on his door. He would come out smiling always glad to see us. We really liked Leroy, he never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He's really going to be missed. RIH TEAROY!!!!
