Linda Diane (Edmond) Linwood was birthed March 29th 1953 to the parentage of Betty Louse Edmond-Jenkins and Willie Hatten-Brown Jr. Linda attended public school and finished her education at Central Grove High School in Cason, TX.

On September 30th 1969 she was married to her only love, Randolph (Rand) Linwood and to this union two children were born: Terrance Linwood Sr. and Christie (Linwood) Taylor.

Linda was a hardworking woman and held employment all throughout her life. She retired from Daingerfield-Lone Star school district in June 2014 where she worked in food services at the Lone Star Elementary and Daingerfield Jr. High School for a combined 35 years. Throughout the years Linda also enjoyed working at summer camp at the Southside Baptist Church in Lone Star, TX. Linda was well-known for her upstanding character, amazing recipes, and her unselfishness to help and feed anyone who came to her door. She was well known state wide the delicious dishes that she made, especially her special meatloaf and “FuFu’s special birthday carrot cake”.

Linda was a faithful, religious woman who served diligently in her church. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist for several years until she moved her membership to Hughes Springs Community Church with Bishop Jessie Biles, whom she loved so dearly. Linda always served in the church’s kitchen and was adored in the church’s choir for her beautiful voice.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, and three siblings: Willie Paul Jenkins, Jerome Edmond, Sharon Dillard and Emma Brown Kennerson.

Linda is survived by her two children, Terrance Linwood Sr. of Cason, TX and Christie Linwood-(Roderick) Taylor of Heartland, TX. Her maternal siblings: Addie Woods of Cason, TX, Mary Seda of Ft. Mitchell, Alabama, Wayne Edmond of Abilene, TX and a special sister Nettie Joyce Mayberry of Greenville, TX. And her paternal siblings: Linda Brown-Rhymes of Daingerfield, TX, Donna Brown of New Boston, TX. Christopher Brown of Chicago, IL, and Eunice “Faye” Brown – Miller of Augusta, GA.  

Also to mourn her death was her grandchildren, great grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, a host of cousins, and many honorary sons and daughters (Dee Cotton, Brittany Traylor (Jamil), and La Kendra Moore) and special friends Edith and Eddie Sexton.

Private services will be held Saturday, February 6, 2021. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. 

Ms. Linwood will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021 at the funeral home.
