Funeral services for Linda Reid Watkins, 65, of Hughes Springs will be on Monday, June 15th at 2 PM at Missionary Baptist Church in Hughes Springs, with Rev. Larry Neeley and Rev. Tommy Estes officiating. Burial will be at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc.Mrs. Watkins was born on September 26, 1943 in Baton Rouge, LA to Robert and Corene Reid and died on Friday, June 12, 2009 at a Mt. Pleasant hospital. Mrs. Watkins worked for 17 years at Titus County Memorial Hospital among other nursing jobs. She also worked in Real Estate. Her children and grandchildren were highlights of her life. Survivors include her husband of 50 years James T. Watkins of Hughes Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law Myron and Jana Watkins of Bogota and Ryan and Angie Watkins of Hughes Springs; two sisters and brothers-in-law Teresa and Dee Mills of New Boston and Trena and Ronnie Kirby of Seagoville; two brothers and sisters-in-law Tommy and Susan Reid of Longview and Jimmy and Janice Reid of Hughes Springs; grandchildren Alecia Green of Ore City, Amber Boyett of Glenn Pool, OK, Bryce Watkins of Idabel, OK, Rhagen Watkins of Hughes Springs, Heather Hawkins, Haley Hawkins and Hana Hawkins all of Bogota; great grandchildren Anna Green of Ore City, Hagen Boyette of Glenn Pool and Adisyn Watkins of Idabel, OK. Mrs. Watkins will lie in state on Sunday, June 14th and the family will receive friends from 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Hughes Springs.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My Mother and Linda had worked together at TRMC, and they again met at Theron Grainger in rehab. She and Mother enjoyed talking of those times of working together. Our prayers are with you.

I am very sorry to hear about Linda. I knew Linda all my life and she was a great person. I am praying for all of you that God will comfort you and give you strength to face the days ahead.

Ryan and family, I just wanted to stop a minute and say how sorry I am to hear of your loss. I know Mrs. Linda was an angel her on earth. My mom worked with her years ago prior to her passing. She will be missed by all. I pray the upcoming days you will find a peace that surpasses all understanding because God has Mrs Linda in his house now.
