Funeral services for Lola Mae Shaddix, 85, of Hughes Springs, will be at 2 P.M., Sunday February 21st at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs with the Rev. Curtis Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Dennis Cemetery. She will lie in state Saturday afternoon and evening, and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Mrs. Shaddix died Thursday, Feb. 19th, at a Linden hospital. She was born February 10, 1924 in Sweetwater. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Hughes Springs. She was the last of 13 children. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law Ruby Sloan, Liz and Gerald Swaim and Charlotte and Gene Dodson, all of Hughes Springs; 14 grandchildren Ricky Sloan, Ronald Sloan, Rene Lopez, Kim Sweetin, Christie Byrd, Debbie Grider, Candie Smith, Casey Dodson, Cody Dodson, Michelle Dodson, Tammy Blankenship, James Shaddix, Melissa Huggins and Jason Shaddix; 28 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her husband Halbert James Jack Shaddix; one son James Carroll Cotton Shaddix; and 12 siblings.
