Louis Harris

August 8, 1956 ~ March 24, 2006
It is said that when life begins, it is like and open book with many blank pages. Each day as we live, our deeds are recorded page by page until we close our eyes in death and await that great getting up morning. The page of this book began for Louis Donald Harris Jr. when he was born August 8, 1956 in Naples, Texas, to the parents of Mr. and Mrs. Louis D. Harris Sr. He grew up in Daingerfield, Texas. He attended the Victory Temple Church along with his family under the leadership of Pastor Jackson. He received his formal education at the J.J. Rhoads Elementary and graduated from the Daingerfield High School in May of 1975. He was employed for many years until his health failed at Lone Star Steel in Lone Star, Texas. In 1980, he met and married Hattie Marie Thomas and to this union three children were born, two daughters, one son, and one granddaughter. He resided in Daingerfield, Texas for a number of years where he worked tirelessly for many years. He departed this life, March 24, 2006 at his residence. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Hattie Harris; two daughters, Sharicka Thomas of Dallas, Samone Harris of Nacogdoches, TX; one son, LaDarius, Darun Harris of Daingerfield; his loving mother, Zella Mae Harris of Daingerfield; three sisters, Amanda of Pittsburg, Ann of Daingerfield, and Deloise of Mt. Vernon, Texas; one brother, Rosavelt Harris of Mt. Vernon, Texas; seven sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
