He graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1960. He taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade in Fairfield, TX. He went on two missionary trips to Cozumel, Mexico where he assisted in building a church and led others to Christ. He showed his love to his family by cooking and making them laugh, by telling his famous jokes.
