Funeral services for Sarah MaeNon Martin of Longview, formerly of Hughes Springs, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 20th at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs with the Rev. Larry Neeley officiating. Entombment will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery. She will lie in state Friday until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Martin died Thursday, Dec. 18th in a Longview nursing home. She was born October 6, 1920 in Gilmer to Henry and Johnnie Spann. She is a past member and vice president of Hughes Springs Garden Club. She was an avid gardener, loved to fish, and was a wonderful cook. She was a Baptist, a devoted wife and the best mother figure to many. She is survived by her husband of nearly 69 years, Garland Red" Martin, a son Eric L. Martin of Longview, TX ; a daughter Charlotte Sherry Carter of Baytown, TX; granddaughter Sarah Vasquez of Baytown, TX and a special nephew Tony Collier, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jason Cope, Ron Cope, James Allwhite, Jimmy Samples, Charles Hull and Leon Watkins. The family wants to express gratitude and special thanks to Highland Pines Nursing Home and Rehabilitation of Longview in their love and care they gave to her and to the family.
