Mari Ann Cook

Services for Mari Ann Cook, 76, of Avinger will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 5, at Reeder-Davis Chapel with Rev. Dan Hoke officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, inc. Ms. Cook was born May 10, 1935 in Avinger to the parentage of Thomas Oscar and Eva Mae Cook and passed away Thursday, June 30 at a Marshall hospital. She worked many years as a music teacher in New Mexico. She retired after working 20 years for the Department of Human Services in the East Texas area. Ms. Cook was a member of the Avinger United Methodist Church and Sweet Adalines. Ms. Cook is survived by one sister and brother-in-law Peggy and Jim Smith of Marshall and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Family visitation will be Monday, July 4 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
