Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Alice Davison, age 85, of Hallsville, Texas, will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at County Line Cemetery in Daingerfield, Texas, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Born on May 3, 1939, in Kaufman County, Texas, to Edwin Russell Smith and Katy Catherine Tanner Smith, Maryβs life was filled with warmth, resilience, and the steadfast values of her Texas roots.
Mary had a heart full of love for her family and her beloved home state. She was a fiercely patriotic woman who cherished the traditions of Christmas and the joy it brought to those she loved. Her passions included caring for her cats, dancing with a joyful spirit, and creating beauty through her yardwork and flowers.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Ray Davison; her two sons, Rusty Vinson and Jesse Vinson; her grandson, Christopher Vinson; and her siblings, Walter Benjamin Smith, Edwin and George Smith, and Janice Kay Rosser.
She is survived by her two sons, Lonnie Vinson and wife Elaine, and Gary Vinson; her stepdaughter, Kathy Shelton and husband Larry; her sister, Uvonne Richards; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Maryβs life was a testament to her unwavering devotion to family and her love for the simple, beautiful things in life. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
