Funeral services for Mary Harris, age 79, of Ore City, Texas, will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024, at New Horizon Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at McCain Family Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City.  There will be a time of visitation with the family from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mary Harris passed away on September 9, 2024, in Longview, Texas. She was born on October 13, 1944, in Ore City, TX to George and Annie Bell McCain. She grew up with 5 sisters and one brother: Minnie Sims, Bettie Moon, Annie Owens, Esta Colbert, Robert McCain and Gwen Royal.
Mary graduated from Valley View High School in May of 1962. In 1969, Mary married Elmore Harris and moved to Sacramento, California. In 1973 they moved to Odessa, TX where Mary work for the Levi Strauss Company.  In 1976, Mary made her way back to East Texas where she worked for the Ore City ISD until retirement.
She is survived by her sister: Betty Moon, daughters: Tisha Harris and Tancy Sanders and husband, Quaderion, grandchildren: Airyn Sanders, Mason Sanders and Graysyn Harris and a host of loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary was known for her kindness, generosity, joyfulness, her quick-witted sense of humor and her love for God, family, friends, church family and traveling.
Our beloved Mary was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and a cherished friend to many.
