Mary Louise Devereux

Miss Mary Louise Devereux, known as Bootsy to her family and friends, was born on April 7, 1919 in Monroe LA, and died on November 14, 2010 in an assisted living facility in Longview TX. She attended kindergarten through graduation at St. Matthews Catholic Church high school in Monroe LA. She also attended Northeast Louisiana State University in Monroe. She worked in administration, including many years for St. Matthews Church. She is survived by her sister, Kath Greene, in Albuquerque NM and her brother-in-law, Uvalde Stoermer, in Lone Star TX. She had 19 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 3205 Concordia St. in Monroe at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 20, 2010.Then she will be laid to rest in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.Afterwards, Our Lady of Fatima will host a small luncheon for family and friends.

My mother resides at the same assisted living facility and she thought the world of Mary Louise. I also enjoyed visiting with her when I came to Longview. She gave me a copy of a funny poem last Christmas and I will cherish it always. She had a great sense of humor and was delightful to be around. She will be missed by all.
