On the 14th day of July, in the year 1939, Fountain Wesley Sr. and Glovene Ray Wesley were blessed with their firstborn child, Maxine Deloris “Gitty” Wesley, in Ore City, Texas, Upshur County. She was a beautiful soul who would go on to touch countless lives with her love, strength, and unwavering faith.

From a young age, Maxine accepted Christ and became a member of St. Paul Baptist Church. As her life journey continued, she later joined Hodge Temple, where she faithfully served the Lord with a humble and giving spirit until her health no longer allowed her to do so. Her faith was her foundation, and she carried it with her in all that she did. She also attended Duncan School District.

On June 29, 1957, Maxine united in love with Robert L. Anderson. Their marriage was one of devotion and partnership, and from this union came five children who were the center of her world. She loved her children fiercely and unconditionally, always putting them before herself.

Maxine was the heart of her home, a devoted homemaker, a loyal and loving wife, and a nurturing mother whose arms were always open. Her love did not stop there; it overflowed into the lives of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild. She found her greatest joy in caring for her family, cooking meals that brought everyone together, working her puzzle books in quiet moments, and helping raise generations with patience, wisdom, and love. To know her was to feel cared for, guided, and deeply loved.

On April 9, 2026, surrounded by the love she poured into others throughout her life, Maxine answered the call of her Heavenly Father and entered into eternal rest. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is now reunited in glory with her beloved husband, Robert L. Anderson; her parents, Fountain Wesley Sr. and Glovene Wesley; her sister, Flora D. Jones; her brother, Fountain Wesley Jr.; and her cherished grandson, Talvi D. Anderson.

She leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her three daughters, Phyllis Crockett (Willie C.) of Dallas, Texas; Jacqueline Anderson of Ore City, Texas; and Katrina Simmons (Alvin) of Lone Star, Texas; her two sons, Monice Anderson (Sherry) and Troy Anderson of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Gloria Carson and Gail Davis, both of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Willis Wesley of Dallas, Texas, and Kenneth Wesley (Paulette) of Cason, Texas; her seven grandchildren, Brandal Anderson I, Larnarl Anderson Sr., Tanecia Anderson, Terrance Anderson, Telvrick Anderson (Cecilia), Altavias Anderson, and Tramia Anderson; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.

Though she is no longer with us in the flesh, her love remains woven into every memory, every lesson, and every life she touched. Her presence was a gift, her life was a blessing, and her memory will forever be treasured.
