LINDEN, TX Funeral services for Maxine Whatley Hamilton, 87, of Linden will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 10, 2010 in the chapel of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home, Inc., Linden, Texas, with Bro. Charles Russell officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery. A visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hamilton was born April 8, 1922 in Queen City to Miles W. and Linnie Skates Whatley. She passed away Monday, February 8, 2010 in a Linden hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Linden. Survivors include her husband, Morris Hamilton of Linden; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary Hamilton, Sammy and Lee Ann Hamilton, all of Atlanta, and David Hamilton of Lewisville; one brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and Jo Whatley of Linden; eight grandchildren, Dana Robinson of Atlanta, Steve Hamilton of Queen City, Bret Hamilton of Atlanta, Jan Holland of Douglass, Texas, Tiffany Hamilton of Atlanta, Sammy Hamilton, Jr. of Atlanta, Joni OKelley of Jackson, Tennessee, and Sarah Weathersby of Columbus, Ohio; 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceeded in death by her parents, two brothers, Woodie Whatley and Loyd Whatley, two sisters, Margaret Forshee and Lucille Steed, and a daughter-in-law, Julia Hamilton.
