Funeral services for Ms. Melanie Evans, age 68, of Lufkin, Texas, will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Linden. Burial will follow at the Jackson Family Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.
Melanie Marie (Jackson) Evans was born June 20, 1956, to Ora W. Jackson and Lois Marie (Houghman)Jackson, and passed away June 22, 2024, in Lufkin, Texas.
Melanie grew up in Linden, Texas and married the love of her life Ronald Neal Evans on June 29,1974. Melanie shared her life with Ron for 50 wonderful years, and lived 30 years in Lufkin, Texas until her passing.
While living in Lufkin, Melanie worked at Tilt for 10 years and Alβs Formal Wear for 15 plus years.
Survivors include son and daughter in-law Micheal and Alyson Evans of Bryan, Texas; daughter and son in-law James and Marie Guldjord of Derby, Kansas; Grandchildren Winry, Lincoln, and Medli Evans; Simon and Ivan Guldjord; two brothers, Johnny Jackson and Randy Jackson of Linden; eight sisters, Sandra Turnbow of Linden, Linda Folyer of Goodells, Mich., Rosalee Allison of Gary, Texas, Susanne Waddill of Lone Star, Texas, Cathy Campbell of Texarkana, Angela Roark of Atlanta, Texas, Cheryl Surratt of Linden; as well as a number of other family members and friends.
Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her parents, brother, William (Bud) Jackson, and sisters Judy LaQua, and Gilberta Jackson.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Evans, Walt Evans, Byford Pfeiffer, Chris Farney, Darren Turnbow, and Nathan Toburen.
The family will welcome family and friends for visitation on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Reeder Davis Chapel.
