Funeral services for Melba Jean High, 78, of Hughes Springs will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs with the Rev. Daniel Bramlett officiating. Burial will follow in Hughes Springs Cemetery under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. High died Tuesday, July 6 in a Longview hospital. She was born March 2, 1932 in Hughes Springs. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs and a floral designer for McDaniel Greenhouse. She loved quilting, flowers, gardening and sewing. Mrs. High is survived by her husband of 61 years William Loyd High of Hughes Springs; one son and daughter-in-law Danny Lynn and Anne High of Ft. Worth; one daughter and son-in-law Brinda and David Mandella of Grand Prairie; one brother Charles Mayo McDaniel of Palestine; one sister Doris Nell Vaughn of Daingerfield; and two grandchildren Matthew Joseph High and Merideth Michele High.
