Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Sorry seems so trivial. I don’t fathom what you are feeling. He was lucky to be your son. Esther

  6. Dave and Marge ‘ Our ‘Family of ’57’ are there with you, in our hearts, with our thoughts and prayers. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you both, and Mike’s entire family.

  7. Mike was a great guy… I worked with him at Lowe’s, and while he was only with us for a short while… he fit in so well, it felt like he had been with us for much longer. No words to make it better, no words to make it easier. I wish the family strength through this hard time. I wish the family courage to press on, and not give up no matter how much pain your heart is in. I know many of us are grateful to his family for the time they allowed us to have with him… but even in the eyes of his family, no matter how long you have someone in your life… it’s never long enough.

  8. Our condolences to the entire Bowden family. Your loss is shared by many who are Mike’s friends. Personally, I was blessed to spend time with him at Syracuse University, in the same academic sequence and also on the Swimming & Diving Team. Although I never lived there, I spent a good deal of time at 910 Ackerman, as well. Mike was a terrific NCAA Division 1 scholarship athlete, a multi-time Big East Diving Champion, and the last one from our generation of athletes on the Syracuse University record board at Webster Pool. I’m not sure if his name was still there when the program was canceled on its centennial, but if he wasn’t still there, he only missed by a year or two. Amazing. Mike and I were in a number of classes together. Our very last exam at Syracuse was a 500-level economics class that, literally, had people crying at its conclusion. And that was the guys. After graduating, together we tried to get our careers off the ground in Atlanta for a bit before each of us escaped for for greener pastures elsewhere. When Susan and I got married, Mike was in our wedding party. All that seems like just yesterday. He will be missed. Michael and Susan Wright and Family

  13. So very sorry for your loss. I met Mike as a teenager when he was diving on the 3meter at Casey Park. He was the best diver in our area, undefeated for years. He dove so close to the board and was so very talented. He was always thinking of others such an extremely good person!

  14. Dave, Marge and family, Our hearts are heavy as we lift prayers to sustain you at this time. Bruce & Kathy

  23. Mike and I were friends, roommates, and teammates at SU. Although we drifted apart a few years after school, touching base only periodically, I hold many very fond memories of great time with him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family and friends.

  25. My Deepest sympathy to Marge, Dave, Ed and Brenda, and the rest of his Family. Mike will be missed by all whom he knew. He was the personification of work hard and play hard. From snow sledding on the hills of Weedsport, to the classes at S.U. and all the pools across the Northeast, he did it all. It was a pleasure to be part of his younger life. I think he was in everyone’s wedding. Sadly we lost touch after he headed South. He never wanted to be cold again. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all later today and beyond. Sorry I could not be there with you in person.

  27. Although it was many days many years from our swim team time together, Michael was a great teammate and I’m sure he was an even greater dad and father he will be missed by all my blessings to the family.

  28. I didn’t personally know Michael, but I can see from the outpouring of love that he fulfilled Ecclesiastes 3:12, which tells us that there is nothing better than to rejoice and to do good during one’s life. He will be missed. May you have the peace of Almighty God/The Comforter (1 Corinthians 1:3) to carry you through your grief; as well as the comfort of your good memories and the hope of the resurrection (Acts 24:15). I am so very sorry for your loss.

  30. So sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bowden family during this difficult time.

  31. My condolences to the Bowden family. I was on the Syracuse Swimming & Diving Team with Mike. After all these years I still remember his big grin. He was a really nice guy. So sorry to hear of his passing.
