LINDEN Michael Dean Barney, 49, of Linden went to be with his Lord on August 14, 2008 in a San Antonio hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 28, 2008. at Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home Chapel in Linden with Bro. Jerry McKeller officiating. A visitation will follow in the First Baptist Church fellowship hall. Mike was born February 17, 1959 in Logan, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Mike graduated from Logan-Magnolia High School in 1977. After graduation, he worked at Logan Produce and was a farmer and rancher. At the time of his accident he was employed as a job superintendent with Kanza Construction Company. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Barney. Survivors include his wife, Lori Barney of Linden, three exceptional sons, Mitchell Barney of Alva, Oklahoma, Matthew and Marshall Barney of Logan, Iowa; his mother, Mary Jean Barney of Logan, Iowa; a sister, Diane Zacharias and husband Alan of Omaha, Nebraska; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steve and Judy Adams of Coushatta, Louisiana; grandmother-in-law, Edith Foster of Coushatta, Louisiana; a brother-in-law and wife, Tye and Amanda Adams of Coushatta, Louisiana; four nieces, Taylor and Chelsea Zacharias of Omaha, Nebraska, and Brailee and Tylee Adams of Coushatta, Louisiana; two nephews, Chase Zacharias of Omaha, Nebraska and Brodee Adams of Coushatta, Louisiana, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
