Funeral services for Minnie Lee Cobbins, 94, of Naples, TX will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Norris Currey Methodist Church in Naples, TX with Rev. Melvina Darty officiating. Burial will be in Morning Star Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Cobbins was born August 10, 1914 in Hughes Springs, TX. to the late Marshall and Mary Turner and passed away on Saturday, January 10 at a Longview, TX hospital. She received her education from the Mt. Olive Public School System. In 1938 she met and married Oliver Cobbins. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Cottrell Chapel Church later renamed N.S. Curry C.M.E. Church for many years. She served faithfully as a member of the Missionary Society and the Stewards Bard. She was a Spiritual leader in the church who lived and expressed her love for the Lord. She was a willing worker in the fundraisers that helped the chruch move from the old building to the new. Those left with sorrowing hearts but not without hope are her daughters Dorris Herderson (Naples, Tx), Bobbie Jean (Billy) Marshall (Dallas,TX). One Son O.C. Cobbins of Hughes Springs, TX. One Special Daughter Sally Hill of Naples, TX. Two Special Nieces Mary Louie Franklin of Los Angles, CA and Betty Griffin of Hughes Springs, TX. Daughter-in-law Elwilla Cobbins of Daingerfield, TX. 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 24 great great great grandchild; one great great great great grandson. A host of cousins and many many friends. I have fought the good fight I have finished the course I have kept the faith From The Heart... Being the best me - I learned from you How to be a good mother - I learned from you Always strive to do my best - I learned from you How to walk this Christian Journey I learned from you How to be a lady I learned from you Your lessons taught me were very well learned I will miss you Your Granddaughter Angles East,Angels West, Angles North and Angles South Just do your best to guard and watch her, while she rests!
