Funeral services for Myrtle Biddy Pendley, 94, of Avinger, will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Avinger. Burial will follow at Avinger Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc., of Hughes Springs. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the funeral home. Mrs. Pendley was born March 15, 1917 and passed away February 13, 2012 at her home. She was retired from her job as Administrator of the Avinger Housing Authority and served many years as a Sunday School teacher at Pruitt Lake Missionary Baptist Church. Preceding her in death are her husband Tommie Pendley; her companion Lester Bohanan; granddaughter Angie Pendley; as well as eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. Pendley is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Carroll and Mary Pendley; two daughters and son-in-law Merle Huffman, and Virginia and William Kennon; nine grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; two brothers C.L. and H.O. Biddy; and two sisters Obie Lee Zanders and Ann Brown.
