Funeral services for Mrs. Nevatyne Edwards, age 93, of Hughes Springs, Texas, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025, at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Chris Cates Officiating. Private burial will follow at Concord Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation with friends and family from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the funeral home. Mrs. Edwards passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 17, 2025, at her home in Hughes Springs.
Nevatyne Edwards was born on May 3, 1931, to Sam and Iris Dell Riordan Best in Kennard, Texas. Raised in a loving home, she grew to become a woman of grace, kindness, and quiet strength.
She married the love of her life, Mr. Doyle William Edwards, with whom she built a family grounded in love, faith, and cherished traditions. Together, they raised four children and created a legacy that will endure for generations to come.
A woman of many talents and passions, Mrs. Edwards found joy in the simple and beautiful things in life. She loved sewing, crocheting, and gardening, often using her hands to create gifts and memories for those she loved. She was an avid reader, finding delight and inspiration in the written word. Her faith was central to her life, and she was a devoted member of Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church, where she nurtured meaningful friendships and strengthened her spiritual connection.
Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Doyle William Edwards; infant daughter, Tina Diane Edwards; grandchildren: James W. Harrell, and Lindsay N. Adams. She is survived by her four children: Katherine Ladell Miller, Linda Kay Adams, Doyle Grayling Edwards, and William Michael Edwards. Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren: Christopher Scott Harrell, Tina Kay Adams, William Neal Adams, Jr., James Doyle Edwards, John Allen Edwards (Goldie), Noah West (Cannoh), and Michael Paul Edwards (Honey); as well as her great-grandchildren: Camden Niel Adams, Adalyn Grace Adams, Summer Rayne Adams, Trey Edwards, Tristen Edwards, Tyler Edwards, Vernon Bradley West, and Caleb Olivera.
The family takes comfort in knowing that Mrs. Edwards’ legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she so deeply loved. Her warmth, creativity, and devotion to her family and faith will forever remain in their hearts.

Mrs. Edwards was a very nice and kind lady. She and her husband Doyle were customers and friends for many years.
