Funeral services for Nezzie Fridia, 75, of Mt. Pleasant will be 12 noon, Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Shady Grove Christian Church in Cason, Texas with Pastor Marquise Fluellen, Rev. Donnie Davis, Rev. Brooks and Rev. Charles (Pete) Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery. Mrs. Fridia will lie in state from noon until 4:30 Friday, September 30 at the funeral home. Nezzie Fridia was born July 10, 1936 to the late Augustus Buck Mitchell and Mattie Curlin and died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at a Tyler hospital. She attended Frederick Douglas High School in Pittsburg, Texas. She was a faithful member of Shady Grove Christian Church until her health began to fail. She accepted Christ at an early age. Momma Nez was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all she met. She was preceded in death by her husband Clovis Pete Fridia; sister Dorothy Cook; three brothers James (Oochie) Curlin, William (Top) Avenger and Willie Cal Fridia. She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters Wanda (Stonie) Jackson of Arlington, Donna Fridia of Mt. Pleasant, Linda (Julian) Alvarado of Ft. Myers, Florida, Judy (Phillip) Walker and Joanette Smith of Sulphur Springs; five sons Vivin Fridia of Dallas, Tony (Debra) Fridia of Daingerfield, Clovis Tadpole Fridia, Jr. of Cason, Ivory (Linda) Fridia of Mt. Pleasant and Baron (Dina) Fridia of Corpus Christi; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister Bonnie Fluellen of Gilmer; one brother Melvin Goolsby of Dallas; a host of nieces and nephews; as well as special friends Clara Mitchell and Natasha White.
